Geez, almost a month since my last post and as a result I'm sure that I've lost the 3 people that make up my readership. But I'll go ahead and post this for posterity. Anyhoo, alot has happened on the Pig front. Due to an impromptu doctor's visit we found out that Pig is now tipping the scales at 19 lb and 2 ozs...and if you take a look at the handy ticker at the bottom of this site, she's nearly 8 months. Yeah my arms are aching just thinking about it.
In fact, the heft of her has required that we move her from infant carseat to convertible carseat. We received a really luxurious Britax Roundabout from UK, AK and MJH which now resides in my car but we needed to get another one for K's truck. So went onto Amazon and ordered an Evenflo Triumph. Ok...the Evenflo is ginormous and it's black and because it's rear-facing, looks like that damned black clamshell thing that Darth Vader sits in. And as a result Pig may develop weird delusions of grandeur, the ability to do mind tricks...stay tuned.
The past few weeks were rough. Pig was sick or teething., not sure which. But it meant nonstop crankiness, yelling, whining, complaining, grumbling...you name it, she was doing it. Sleep was an elusive thing. We'd tumble into bed around 11-ish and just as the covers settled around us and K's snoring reached a crescendo, we'd hear the dreaded sound: "Eh?! Eh! Eh!"
We've upped Pig's solids. She gets a bowl of oatmeal or brown rice cereal and a cube of fruit or veggies during the day and another bowl of fruit or veggies for dinner. She's still getting her breastmilk, 6 bottles or so of about 4-5 ozs each. Good eater. I've been making her food and I'm trying to give her as much variety as possible. She's had puree of pears, peas, yams, prunes (deadly explosive poop, her rear end blew up several times), carrots, peaches and green lentils. Of course she loves fruit, she goes after the pears with especial gusto. Peas....eh, so-so, she'll eat it but with a look on her face like "you a-holes, you eat wonderfully spiced food and leave me to eat this mush." Lentils on its own...not so good, but when mixed with brown rice cereal, a scrumptious delight. Next on the menu, avocados, apples, bananas, chicken broth and veggies.
And she's starting to crawl! Well, it's more like a shimmy, if we attached a swiffer to her undercarriage she could mop the floors.
